Donald Allan Kerr, born April 16th, 1944, in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 20th 2024. He is deeply mourned by his loving wife, Sylvia, with whom he shared nearly 55 years of marriage.
Don was a cherished father to his two daughters, Jacquie Sebulsky (Joe Sebulsky) and Christine Cumming (Bryce Cumming). His three grandchildren, Madison Sebulsky,
Mielle Sebulsky, and James Cumming, were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy and pride. He is predeceased by his parents, Dina and James Kerr.
Don’s passion for travel was evident in his numerous adventures to Spain and Switzerland, where he created lasting memories with family and friends. His zest for exploration and new experiences was matched only by his dedication to his career.
For nearly 50 years, Don served with distinction in the Edmonton Police Service, making significant contributions in various roles. From foot and car patrol to the youth section and community programs, his impact was widely felt. Most notably, Don spent 12 memorable years with his favorite police partner, Barney the Bear, in the Education Unit, engaging and educating the community in a uniquely impactful way. After his tenure as an officer, he continued his service as a civilian
member of the Communications Unit (911), where he remained a valued and committed member of the team.
A celebration of Don’s life was held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sherwood Park) September 3rd, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s honor can be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Don will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his dedication to his profession, and his love of life’s adventures. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, unit 24 and the Norwood Capital Care facility who took such good care of Don during his time there.

Constable Donald Allan KERR joined the Edmonton Police Department on September 16th, 1968, and retired on April 11th, 1997.
We received the sad information that Bob passed away on or about July 31st. Unfortunately, no other information was provided or located with respect to Bob’s passing.
Robert (Bob) Martin TAYLOR joined the Edmonton Police Department on April 21, 1969, and retired on April 11, 1997.
1934 – 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Henry Johnson on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the age of 90 years old at Capital Care Strathcona, Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Yvonne Marie, on July 21, 2023; and his granddaughter, Jennifer-Lynn Clements, 2009.
His children mourn Bill, Stephen (Cathy) Johnson; and his granddaughters, Maegan (Stefan) Keifer and Michelle (Colton) Leduc; his daughter, Patti (Paul) Clements; and his granddaughters Deana Clements and Stephanie Clements.
Bill spent 32 years with the Edmonton Police Service, retiring 1989 as a Staff Sergeant in CID. Following his retirement, Yvonne and Bill enjoyed traveling around the world, visiting many countries, and taking many cruises to warmer weather in the winter. Bill loved all his 5 granddaughters, the first born on his birthday, and they always had a very special relationship with each other.
Unfortunately, Bill was diagnosed with early onset dementia, which he dealt with like everything in his life, intense and head-on day by day. Bill spent the last 13 years in care and now has joined his one true love.
Cremation has taken place, and at his request, there will be no funeral.
